Kyiv is preparing for the upcoming heating season. Utilities are conducting hydraulic tests on heating networks and performing scheduled repairs. This was stated by the Kyiv City State Administration, UNN reports.

In Kyiv, 80% of the capital's buildings and municipal facilities have already been prepared for winter. Hydraulic tests have been carried out on 85% of heating networks. Also, scheduled repairs and routine maintenance at boiler houses and heating stations have been completed by 90%
Petro Panteleev, deputy head of KCSA, said that the heating company is currently actively repairing the damage detected during hydraulic tests: more than 1,500 pipeline damages have already been repaired.
"Kyivteploenergo is also modernizing related heat and power equipment.
The heating system should be ready for launch by early October. However, I ask all balance sheet holders not to wait until then and to issue certificates of readiness for the heating season right now. First of all, this applies to the housing stock, as well as educational and medical institutions
According to him, Kyiv is once again preparing for cold weather in the face of possible power cuts due to large-scale damage to the energy infrastructure.

The KCSA adds that the city's boiler houses, where capacity allows, are already equipped with generators for uninterrupted operation. There are also more than 50 mobile boiler houses that will provide heat to medical facilities and buildings with heating points in case of an emergency.
In addition, the capital has four mechanisms for apartment buildings that help implement energy-efficient measures or uninterruptible power supply equipment. In particular, for condominiums and housing cooperatives, which allows residents to install alternative power sources or energy-efficient equipment in their homes.

Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk assures that the heating season will be completed without any blackouts, following the same principle as last year. The Energy Ministry has already developed a clear plan for this.
