Pope Francis made his first trip outside of Rome in 7 months, visiting Venice for a day, where he raised issues such as the war in Ukraine, called for negotiated peace and encouraged young people to help others.

On Sunday, April 28, Pope Francis traveled outside of Rome for the first time in seven months - the pontiff visited Venice for a one-day visit. This was reported by Reuters, and by UNN.

During his five-hour stay in Venice , the Pope visited a women's prison, an art exhibition, and gave three speeches and a homily. He traveled around the city in a wheelchair, a golf buggy, and a motorboat.

By helicopter, he arrived at the women's prison, where the Vatican had organized an exhibition as part of the Venice Biennale. Afterwards, the Pope addressed young people in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, urging them to help people.
