Police Raids: law enforcement reveals which top police officials detained in three regions

The SBU and National Police have detained top officials in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Zhytomyr regions. They are suspected of covering up a network of porn offices.

Amidst police searches in three regions, those detained include the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police (GUNP) in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the deputy head of the GUNP in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the first deputy head of the GUNP in the Ternopil region, the deputy head of the GUNP in the Zhytomyr region, and a driver from the motor depot of the State Institution "Service Center for Ministry of Internal Affairs Units," the National Police and the SBU reported on Wednesday, UNN writes.

As reported by the SBU, officials of regional police departments were exposed in illegal schemes. According to the case files, the suspects were involved in "racketeering" the activities of models on internet platforms featuring explicit content. Thus, for various amounts of illegal benefit, the officials, according to the SBU, guaranteed their "protégés" immunity from prosecution for the illegal content.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers detained: the head of the GUNP in the Ivano-Frankivsk region; the deputy head of the GUNP in the Ivano-Frankivsk region; the first deputy head of the GUNP in the Ternopil region; the deputy head of the GUNP in the Zhytomyr region; and a driver from the motor depot of the State Institution "Service Center for Ministry of Internal Affairs Units," who, according to the investigation, acted as a mediator

During the authorized searches, the National Police reported, "funds, communication devices, documentation, and other physical evidence that may indicate the involvement of the suspects in illegal activities were seized."

"Currently, the suspects have been notified of suspicion under Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all persons involved in the functioning of the illegal scheme," the police stated.

"The National Police of Ukraine emphasizes: purging the system of dishonest employees is an unconditional priority. The police will continue to facilitate an objective and impartial investigation regarding everyone who has broken the law, regardless of position or rank," the National Police statement reads.
