Poland is considering signing a new agreement with Ukraine to replace the current one of 1992. This was reported by Polskie Radio, according to UNN.
Details
Poland is considering the possibility of concluding a new Polish-Ukrainian treaty to replace the current 1992 agreement.
A new treaty is certainly possible, and it is something we are thinking about in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and elsewhere
According to the professor, the absence of such an agreement may be one of the reasons for the lack of a security cooperation agreement between Poland and Ukraine.
Regarding relations between Poland and Ukraine, Kuzniar emphasized the importance of military cooperation, especially in the face of geopolitical turbulence.
He also noted that Polish aid to the Ukrainian army is significant.
In the case of Poland, action preceded the written word. No one in Europe or in Poland can have the slightest doubt that Poland has given Ukraine a great deal in the purely military sphere
However, the professor noted that the new treaty should not go as far as some of the proposals that arose last year regarding the idea of a federation with Ukraine.
Although the date of entry into force of the new agreement has not been determined, Kuzniar emphasized that both parties are confident in the need for such an agreement.
However, I think there is no doubt that such an agreement will be created on the Polish side, as well as on the Ukrainian side. Both sides are convinced that they need such an agreement
Recall
Similar agreements on security cooperation have already been signed between Ukraine and other countries, including Finland, which happened recently.
