Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak has explained the conditions under which Ukraine's largest international airport, Boryspil, in Kyiv region, could be opened. He spoke about this in an interview with the TV channel "We are Ukraine", reports UNN.
According to him, Boryspil will start working symbolically when the security situation is resolved. However, it is important to understand what "settled security situation" means.
Russia is currently using key tools to attack civilians. These include missiles and attack drones that fly in many regions of Ukraine every night.
"Of course, to fully guarantee security, we need to significantly increase anti-missile and anti-drone systems. This security situation has not yet been fully resolved, but in terms of thinking about the future, we can say that airports should work in Ukraine. But this is not a question of tomorrow, but when the sky is completely closed from the influence of Russian missile and drone attacks," the advisor to the head of the OP explained.
As a reminder, the American company AECOM will take part in the reconstruction of Boryspil . AECOM has experience in reconstruction work of varying complexity around the world - it and its subsidiaries participated in post-war reconstruction in Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia, etc.
