People's Artist of Ukraine, singer and composer Mykola Yanchenko has died. The artist from Vinnytsia region dedicated his life to Ukrainian song, the development of Podillia's culture, and supporting young performers, and his work was known far beyond the region. Mykola Oleksandrovych glorified the Ukrainian song, supported young artists, initiated art projects, united people around Ukrainian culture, and worked for many years for the development of Vinnytsia region. His voice became recognizable to entire generations of Ukrainians, and his songs became part of our cultural heritage.

Yanchenko began his active creative activity as an author and performer of his own songs in the 1990s. His repertoire includes lyrical and humorous compositions dedicated to family, the Ukrainian village, and folk traditions. Among the most famous songs are "Only Here in Ukraine", "Oh, Why Are You, Mother", "Pour, Kuma!", "My Family".
In 2007, Mykola Yanchenko was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in 2016 — People's Artist of Ukraine. He was also the founder and organizer of the family song festival "Mother's Hearth", which took place in his small homeland in the village of Kanava.
Mykola Yanchenko was the author of numerous songs performed by Ukrainian artists, and his work was closely connected with Podillia and the Ukrainian folk music tradition.
