A draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada that provides for the improvement of issues related to vacations for military and police officers, as well as issues related to their social protection and their families, MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Fedir Venislavsky said at a briefing, UNN reports.

Details

According to Venislavsky, the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence has developed a bill on social protection of military and police officers.

This is the draft law No. 10313 "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Ensuring the Rights of Military and Police Officers to Social Protection," which was registered in the Verkhovna Rada yesterday, December 4. The text of the draft law is currently not available on the Rada's website.

As for the first draft law on social protection, it proposes to improve issues related to leave. For example, with parental leave. Issues related to the calculation of pensions for military personnel

Venislavsky said.

According to him, it is proposed that if it is a question of performing official duties during the introduction of the legal regime of martial law, then a day is considered as two, or a month as two.

"If a serviceman participates directly in the defense of territorial integrity and state sovereignty, but does not take part in hostilities, it is a month for three, if he participates directly, it is a month for four. And staying in captivity - if a person was taken prisoner without his or her own voluntary consent - is one month for five months of military service," Venislavsky added.

The draft law also proposes to improve the social welfare of military and police officers and their families.

To recap

The Ministry of Defense has simplified the passage of the military medical commission for military personnel. From now on, hospitals will exchange documents with military units and recruitment centers through an electronic document management system.
