The owner of the Russian dry cargo ship Ursa Major, which sank in the Mediterranean Sea near the coast of Spain, claimed a "terrorist attack" on the vessel. This is reported by the Russian media, citing a statement by the company "Oboronlogistika", which owns the ship, reports UNN.

According to "Oboronlogistika", three explosions occurred on the starboard side of the Ursa Major. They became the cause of the accident.

According to official information, the Ursa Major ship was transporting port cranes, and the destination was supposed to be Vladivostok. However, as indicated in the CPSD at the NSDC, in May 2022, the United States imposed sanctions against Ursa Major due to the ship's involvement in the transportation of military equipment for Russian troops in Syria.
