MHP has its own facilities not only in Ukraine but also abroad. Therefore, Oksana Skydan, Head of Procurement for Investment Projects and Foreign Economic Activity at MHP, shared her experience of working with both Ukrainian and international suppliers at the MHP Procurement Conference 2024: Big Business about Procurement, UNN reports.
In parallel with the transformation of MHP from a raw materials company to a culinary company, the department's team had to change its approach to investing and purchasing equipment.
Openness and simplification have become the basis for building processes. Now the procurement team is involved at the stage of preparing technical specifications. And with the introduction of electronic document management, we managed to save 10-15 times on courier shipments alone.
In addition, electronic document management helped speed up the signing of contracts with both Ukrainian partners and non-residents. Digitalization has also made it possible to introduce new standards for information storage.
Thanks to the department's involvement in all stages of procurement - from specifying the terms of reference to the full completion of the project - the team now also works on evaluating MHP's investment projects.
Building long-term relationships with suppliers allows us to create convenient procedures for all parties. For example, equipment repairs in Ukraine can be carried out remotely by a partner from Italy.
It is also important to make reference visits for team development. Thus, MHP specialists can see how different equipment is used in different parts of the world. This is to implement only the best solutions in Ukraine.
