In Yaroslavl, a fire broke out on the territory of the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery, one of Russia’s five largest refineries, as a result of a nighttime drone attack. This was reported by the Astra Telegram channel, citing its own OSINT analysis, UNN writes.

On the night of August 6, Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said that the region had been attacked by UAVs and reported that the exit from Yaroslavl toward Moscow had been blocked. Local residents posted videos of explosions and two columns of thick black smoke.
According to OSINT analyst Astra, one of the fires was geolocated on the territory of the Novo-Yaroslavl oil refinery, Slavneft-YANOS. The location of the second fire has not yet been established.
The refinery has already been targeted in attacks repeatedly
Slavneft-YANOS processes about 15 million tonnes of oil per year and is one of Russia’s largest oil-refining enterprises. The refinery produces Euro-5 gasoline and diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, lubricants, bitumen, liquefied gases, and other petroleum products. The enterprise is controlled by Rosneft and Gazprom through the Slavneft company.
According to Astra, in 2026 this refinery had already been attacked by Ukrainian drones at least six times. Russian authorities have not officially confirmed information about damage to the enterprise so far.
