On the occasion of Independence Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska took part in a prayer for Ukraine held at Saint Sophia's Cathedral, UNN reports, citing the Office of the President.

The prayers were delivered by Epiphany, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine; Sviatoslav, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church; Vitaliy Kryvytskyi, Head of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine; Valerii Antoniuk, Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christian Baptists; Yaakov Dov Bleich, President of the Association of Jewish Religious Organizations of Ukraine; Sheikh Ahmed Tamim, Grand Mufti of Ukraine; Oleksandr Zan-Fabian, Bishop of the Transcarpathian Reformed Church; and Anatolii Kozachok, Senior Bishop of the Ukrainian Church of Christians of the Evangelical Faith.
The Holy Fathers prayed for the end of the war and for peace, unity, independence, and prosperity for Ukraine; for blessings for the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian defenders; for the return of children, prisoners, and missing persons; and for the healing of the wounded.
