Six Northern European football associations have declared that they have lost confidence in FIFA President Gianni Infantino and called for sweeping reforms in the organization. Reuters reports, UNN writes.

Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the Faroe Islands also supported calls by three regional confederations for Infantino’s resignation.
The Nordic associations are demanding an independent investigation into FIFA’s controversial proposal to involve private investors in financing a stake in the organization’s commercial activities. They also want guarantees that the governance of FIFA and the staging of its tournaments will not be transferred into private ownership.

Separately, the associations called for an independent audit of FIFA’s governance system to assess its transparency, accountability and system of checks and balances.
Pressure on Infantino is mounting ahead of next year’s FIFA presidential election, in which he is seeking a fourth term. Denmark earlier announced its intention to support an alternative candidate.
