New York Governor Kathy Hocul announced that a $9 entry fee will be introduced in Manhattan starting January 5 next year. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

This fee will replace the previously proposed tariff of $15, which was considered too high for city residents. However, by 2028, the fee will increase to $12.
According to Governor Hokul, the funds will be used to finance transportation projects and support mass transit, including $15 billion to improve subways and buses.
Donald Trump has already expressed his dissatisfaction with the innovations, calling them “bad for business” and “putting New York at a disadvantage.” In addition, some New Jersey Democrats also oppose the fee and promise to fight it.
