Nepal detains 10 people who recruited locals for the russian army

In Nepal, police detained 10 people who used tourist visas to smuggle local unemployed people to Russia for further service in the occupying army. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

Details

The detainees illegally took up to $9000 from each person and sent them to russia on "guest (tourist) visas," mostly through the UAE. They were then recruited into the russian army.

Kathmandu District Police Chief Bhupendra Khatri said the individuals are currently in police custody and were detained in the last few days following tips.

This is a case of human smuggling, organized crime

- Khatri added.

To recap,

Nepal appealed to moscow with a request not to recruit its citizens into the russian army and to immediately send all Nepali soldiers previously recruited back to the country.  
It is known that Nepalese citizens can serve in the armies of Britain and India in addition to their own army. There are no such agreements with russia.
