The road accident occurred on August 9 on the Odesa–Mykolaiv highway.

It was preliminarily established that the 56-year-old driver of the cargo van, traveling toward Mykolaiv, lost control and crossed into the oncoming lane, where he collided with two minibuses traveling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the accident, the van driver and two passengers of one of the minibuses—a 34-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman—were killed. Seven other passengers sustained various bodily injuries and were taken to a medical facility for the necessary assistance.

Police are establishing all the circumstances of the accident. The issue of entering the information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations is being considered.
