An indictment against a nanny for intentionally hitting a child in the face, which did not cause bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was sent to court
Details of the case
In April 2024, a video was posted on social media showing a woman slapping a girl on a bus. The video was immediately seen by the mother of a 4-year-old child, who recognized her daughter and the nanny. The woman went to the police and immediately stopped cooperating with the nanny, the prosecutor's office said
"The nanny explained to law enforcement officers that she slapped the child to prevent her from falling asleep. She had allegedly agreed on this with a 4-year-old girl with whom she was going to church that day," the report says.
The accused faces a fine of up to 50 tax-free minimum incomes, or community service for up to two hundred hours, or correctional labor for up to one year.
