The suspect confessed to the murder of Anastasia Berezovska and named an accomplice. He showed the place where the body was hidden, and personal belongings and the gun were thrown into a body of water.

Vladyslav Reut, the suspect in the murder of Anastasiia Berezovska, who is suspected of attempting to assassinate businessman Vadym Yermolaiev in Monaco, has given testimony and shown the place where the woman's body was hidden. The name of another suspect has also become known - Vitalii Zhykovych, who, as Reut told the investigation, is a former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine, from which he was dismissed in April 2026. This was stated by prosecutor Dmytro Tkachuk during a court hearing, reports a correspondent of UNN.

Details

According to the investigation, on July 3, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Reut, driving a BMW X3, arrived at a coffee shop in the village of Bilohorodka, where another participant, Vitalii Zhykovych, was waiting for him. After that, they arrived at the auto section at 60km+120, where Berezovska was waiting for them, and she sat in the back seat of the said car.

"During the movement… near the village of Yuriv, Zhykovych prepared the murder weapon, namely a firearm. Upon arriving at the forest area… Zhykovych distracted the victim's attention, while Reut was to commit the murder. After that, Reut took a pistol from the car and fired at least two shots into the head," said prosecutor Dmytro Tkachuk.

Tkachuk said that on July 6, Reut filed a statement with law enforcement, in which he reported that he and Zhykovych had committed the premeditated murder of Berezovska.

"The testimony of witness Reut from July 6, given within the framework of another criminal proceeding, according to which he indicated the circumstances of his acquaintance with Zhykovych, whom he knew as an SBU employee, from where he was dismissed in April 2026, and cooperation with the latter. He also spoke about the events that took place on July 3," added Tkachuk.

According to him, after the murder, personal belongings and the pistol were thrown into a body of water.

The prosecutor also said that during a search of the car, a number of license plates, both Ukrainian and foreign, were seized.

"The discovered circumstances give reason to assume that these license plates could have been used for conspiracy, both while traveling to the meeting place with Berezovska and on the way back after committing her murder. The very fact of discovering such a number of license plates directly indicates the systematic nature of the measures taken by them to conceal the crime and avoid recording the vehicle," Tkachuk noted.
