The prosecution asks the Pechersk Court to impose a preventive measure on Vladyslav Reut in the form of detention for 60 days without the right to bail. Reut is suspected of murdering Anastasia Berezovska, who was previously wanted by Interpol.

The prosecution asks the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv to impose a preventive measure on Vladyslav Reuta, suspected of murdering Anastasiia Berezovska, in the form of detention for 60 days without the possibility of bail. This was stated by prosecutor Dmytro Tkachuk during the court hearing, reports a UNN correspondent.

Details

"The prosecution concludes that the application of any other, more lenient preventive measure not involving deprivation of liberty would be insufficient to prevent Reuta from committing new criminal offenses, as he has already demonstrated disregard for the norms of criminal law. (...) I ask to apply to the suspect Vladyslav Reuta a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days without the possibility of bail," said Tkachuk.

Update

According to the investigation, on July 3, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Reuta, driving a BMW X3, arrived at a coffee shop in the village of Bilohorodka, where another participant, Vitalii Zhykovych, was waiting for him. After that, they arrived at the highway section at 60 km + 120, where Berezovska was waiting for them, and she sat in the back seat of the said car.

"During the movement... near the village of Yuriv, Zhykovych prepared the murder weapon, namely a firearm. Arriving at the forest area... Zhykovych distracted the victim's attention, while Reuta was to commit the murder. After that, Reuta took a pistol from the car and fired at least two shots to the head," said prosecutor Dmytro Tkachuk.

Tkachuk said that on July 6, Reuta filed a statement with law enforcement, in which he reported the commission of the premeditated murder of Berezovska by him and Zhykovych.

"The testimony of witness Reuta from July 6, given within the framework of another criminal proceeding, according to which he indicated the circumstances of his acquaintance with Zhykovych, whom he knew as an SBU employee who was dismissed in April 2026, and cooperation with the latter. He also spoke about the events that took place on July 3," added Tkachuk.

According to him, after the murder, personal belongings and the pistol were thrown into a body of water.

The prosecutor also said that during a search of the car, a number of license plates, both Ukrainian and foreign, were seized.

"The discovered circumstances give reason to assume that these license plates could have been used for conspiracy, both while traveling to the meeting place with Berezovska and on the way back after committing her murder. The very fact of discovering such a number of license plates directly indicates the systematic nature of the measures taken by them to conceal the crime and avoid recording the vehicle," Tkachuk noted.
