Educators in the Safianivka community of Izmail district have seen the first results: less sugar and salt in the children's diet. Instead, whole grain bread, a variety of spices, and more fresh vegetables and fruits were added to the menu.
"The schoolchildren's diet also includes more compotes made from natural fruits and mint, and herbal teas. The amount of fat is controlled, and the main side dish is cereal.
Potatoes were reduced in the diet. Fish days were added. All according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine," Kiper informs.
The head of the regional state administration added that the community chefs have completed a retraining course and have signed up for the next courses at the newly created culinary hub at the Danube Center for Vocational Education, which will soon open its doors.
Kiper reminded that earlier 66 educational institutions in Odesa Oblast had been selected by foreign partners for the World Food Program's project to reimburse the cost of meals for students in grades 1-4.
"Ozernianske ZZSO of Safianivska TG was also included in this list, which allowed us to improve the quality of food and ensure 100% compliance with the standards," he said.
