A 17-year-old girl was detained following the death of a serviceman in the Zhytomyr region after methadone was slipped into his drink during a meeting; according to her, she acted on instructions from a handler from the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Friday, UNN writes.

"Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the death of an active-duty UAF serviceman in the Zhytomyr region after his meeting with a 17-year-old resident of the Berdychiv district," the report states.
As indicated, the girl was detained on June 5, 2024. Under the procedural guidance of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor's Office, a notice of suspicion is being prepared for her.
According to the detainee, she acted on the instructions of a handler from the Russian Federation who contacted her via Telegram. According to preliminary data, on June 3, the girl met with the serviceman. While consuming alcohol together at his place of residence, she claims she added methadone, received by mail, to the drink, after which she left the apartment. The next day, the man was found dead
Investigative actions are currently ongoing. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to establish the final cause of death.
The preliminary legal qualification is Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional homicide).
