A man was killed as a result of a nighttime shelling by Russian troops in the village of Podoly in Kharkiv region. His body was found under the rubble of a private house damaged by the attack, the police of the Kharkiv region reported on Tuesday, UNN writes.

"On December 26, around 02:30, a private house was damaged as a result of a strike on the village of Podoly, Kupyansk district. Rescuers found the body of a man under the rubble," the police said.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Over the past day, more than 15 localities in Kharkiv region came under shelling by the Russian military. A 63-year-old man was injured as a result of hostile shelling in Kupyansk district.
