Ex-Roma forward Francesco Totti arrived in Moscow to participate in the "Bookmaker Rating" ceremony. The visit sparked criticism due to Russia's war against Ukraine.

Former Roma forward and Italian national team player Francesco Totti has arrived in Russia to take part in the "Bookmaker Ratings" ceremony in Moscow tomorrow, April 8. Totti has been criticised online, with users writing that the Roma legend has sold out for rubles and asking him if he will come to Kryvyi Rih, where Russians killed 20 people, reports UNN.

Legendary Italian footballer, former captain of "Roma" Francesco Totti has landed in Moscow. The former striker flew to Russia to become a special guest of the "RB" award

- reports the "Bookmaker Rating" account.

It is noted that the award ceremony will be held on April 8, 2025 at the Irina Viner Gymnastics Palace, and the event itself is "designed to unite leaders of the sports industry, business, media and identify the best companies in the sports and bookmaking industry".

In the comments, people's opinions regarding Totti's visit to Moscow were divided. Some users write that Totti is great, because "Russia is a fantastic country". Some, on the contrary, called Totti "a devil", and also called him "a sellout".

He is ready for anything for "money", you are not an emperor, but a plebeian. He dropped his pants in front of the ruble, who knows if Totti is a real man and will come to Kryvyi Rih, to the playground where the Russians tortured 9 children, or he is just a football pensioner who needs money, and he doesn't care that they are stained with blood. He was my idol, and today Totti is just an uneducated asshole, and it's good that Hillary left him, and "Roma" didn't appoint him as manager

- users write.

Earlier UNN reported that on April 8 Totti plans to attend the "Bookmaker Ratings" ceremony - an award that is awarded in Russia for joint achievements in sports and bookmaking. The ceremony is to be held in Moscow.

Totti himself stated that "he is not a politician or a diplomat, but an athlete who promotes his values around the world", adding that he would have no problem visiting Kyiv as well.
