We need to make it clear that the next time a missile violates NATO airspace, it will be shot down. This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis on Fox News the day before, commenting on the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian missile, UNN reports.

We have to change our position, we have to change the way we behave and send a very clear message that if this happens again, missiles or drones, they will be shot down

- Landsbergis said.

The Lithuanian foreign minister reminded that this was "not the first time". "There have been several violations of airspace in Romania, and this is not the first time that Poland's airspace has been violated. So, we can say that once is a mistake, but if we allow this to happen, it sounds like an invitation," the Lithuanian politician said.

Recall

On the night of March 24, a Russian cruise missile launched from Ukraine violated Polish airspace. The missile entered Polish airspace near the village of Osierdów in the Lublin Voivodeship. It stayed there for 39 seconds.

The Polish military decided not to shoot it down because of the risk of debris falling on their territory.
