The Kharkiv RMA assumes that it will be possible to restore the TV tower only after the end of hostilities. However, the possibility of its restoration will be assessed by experts after the damaged equipment is dismantled. This was stated by Ivan Sokol, Director of the Civil Defense Department of the Kharkiv RMA on Tuesday, April 23, on Radio Liberty, UNN reports.
According to an RMA official, specialists are trying to figure out the result of the shelling and what equipment was damaged.
"Taking into account the way it (the tower - ed.) was built, its reconstruction is possible only after the end of hostilities," Sokol said.
He also said that there is still no digital television in part of Kharkiv region.
"There is no digital television in Kharkiv in the area of the transmitter's coverage and in the nearest settlements. Experts are analyzing and disassembling the damaged equipment to make final conclusions about the damage caused by the strike," Sokol said.
According to Air Force spokesman Ilya Yevlash, yesterday the enemy struck a Kharkiv TV tower, most likely with the aim of disrupting communications in order to spread their Russian propaganda and limit the broadcasting of the Ukrainian state.
