Kamala Harris has higher support in the competition with Donald Trump for the US presidency than the current leader of the White House. Bloomberg writes about this with reference to a Morning Consult poll, UNN reports.
Details
According to the poll, the US vice president is two percentage points behind Trump (47% to 45%), which is within the statistical margin of error.
At the same time, this gap is smaller than Trump's with Biden when he was still a candidate, which was six percentage points, as recorded by Morning Consult before the current US president withdrew his candidacy.
Polls show that the vice president is more attractive as a Democratic candidate after Joe Biden's poor performance in the debate with Trump in late June.
Bloomberg also emphasizes that putting Harris' name on the ballot could help the Democratic Party.
Recall
CNN reported that the US Democratic Party plans to vote on the confirmation of Vice President Kamala Harris as its presidential candidate by August 7.
