Today, July 19, sports coaches celebrate their professional holiday in Ukraine. The event was launched in 2021 by a decree of the President of Ukraine, UNN reports.
The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance, as it was on July 19, 1996, that Ukrainian athletes, as representatives of an independent state, made their debut at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
It is quite symbolic that this year's Coach's Day is celebrated on the eve of the start of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
Ukraine will be represented at the Olympic Games by 140 athletes who, thanks to their coaches, have been able to represent our country at the most prestigious competitions on the planet.
It is worth reminding that 139 medals at the Summer Olympics and 9 at the Winter Olympics are not only the achievement of Ukrainian athletes, but also their coaches.
You can also join the New Friends Day on July 19.
The event was started in the 1920s by an American postcard company to popularize its products.
The purpose of the holiday is to encourage people to make new acquaintances and expand their social circle.
New Friends Day is celebrated three times a year. In addition to July 19, it can also be celebrated on January 19 and October 19.
According to the church calendar, today is the Day of Remembrance of St. Macrina.
After the death of her fiancé, Makryna decided to dedicate her life to the Lord, took the monastic vows, and together with her mother founded a monastery in Agnes.
Makrina is believed to have had the gift of healing and miracles, and was canonized after her death.
Dmytro, Roman, Marina, and Yevhenia celebrate their name days on July 19.
