A petition demanding that women be mobilized to reduce gender inequality has been posted on the President's website. The author of the petition emphasizes the violation of women's constitutional rights, as the duty to defend the homeland is equal for all citizens.

A petition has been posted on the official website of the President of Ukraine, where the author demands that women be mobilized to reduce gender inequality, UNN reports.

"Dear Mr. President, In accordance with Article 65 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the duty to defend the Motherland is imposed on all citizens of our country, regardless of gender. The text of the Constitution clearly states that this duty is equal for all, making any discrimination based on gender impossible. However, the current practice of mobilization is in fact a violation of women's constitutional right, as only men are subject to compulsory mobilization. This restricts women's civil rights, discriminating against them in the performance of this sacred duty," the petition says.

The author is Andriy Rudnytskyi, who emphasizes that "it is time to put an end to gender stereotypes", as women are capable of occupying a wide range of military specialties.

The petition says that Ukrainian women are already working in combat units, as well as as military medics, drone operators, analysts and other important specialties.

"Mobilizing only men while women are not given a similar obligation is contrary to the principles of equality and justice. This is seen as an unconstitutional and discriminatory approach that effectively deprives women of the right to fulfill their constitutional obligation. This situation is not only a manifestation of discrimination, but also a violation of their rights as full citizens of Ukraine," the petition states.

The petition itself collected 178 votes out of the 25,000 required.

Due to the mobilization of men and difficulties in booking them, employers are increasingly favoring women, which leads to an increase in their salaries.
