Political commentator Gennadiy Dubov believes that renaming the city of Brovary to Brovari is inappropriate. According to him, the name is not associated with the communist past, and the change will entail unnecessary costs at a difficult time for the country.

Brovary is a normal Ukrainian city name that is in no way associated with Ukraine's communist past. This opinion on the initiative of a group of MPs to rename Brovary to Brovari was expressed by political observer Hennadiy Dubov in a commentary to UNN.

According to the expert, based on this position, changing the name of the city from Brovary to Brovari is completely inappropriate.

In addition, the renaming will entail unnecessary costs, which are unacceptable given the difficult situation in the country.

"In my personal opinion, the name 'Brovary' is not associated with the communist past. The name of the city is not Red Partisan, right? In this particular situation, I am convinced that we should keep the current name.

In addition, renaming is an additional expense that is not reasonable today, as with many other renaming," said Dubov.

Optional

Members of the Brovary City Council are also convinced that renaming Brovary will lead to unnecessary and unnecessary expenses. In their opinion, these funds would be better spent on supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"I am in favor of the old name of the city of Brovary, which we have now. Such initiatives are absolutely out of time. This is first of all. Secondly, it is financially expensive - seals, plates, etc. This will entail funds that can be easily and better sent to the Armed Forces to help them," said Maksym Tkachenko, a deputy of the Brovary City Council and university professor, in a commentary to UNN.

His fellow deputy, business representative Viktor Haidukov, shares the same position . "All enterprises will have to change their documentation. New signs will have to be made in the city. Every resident will have to change everything. No one has calculated it, but it is very expensive. These funds can be spent on the Armed Forces and this is much more important today," Gaidukov said in a commentary to UNN.

Recall

At an extraordinary session, members of the Brovary City Council almost unanimously approved an appeal to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk with a request not to submit a draft resolution to rename Brovary to Brovari.

This resolution was previously registered by a group of MPs led by Roman Lozynskyi, a representative of the Golos faction.

According to the mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, there are three conclusions from scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine that the name "Brovary" is historical and should be preserved.
