The Israeli Defense Forces confirms in a statement that it has recently carried out air strikes in Yemen, UNN reports citing the Times of Israel.
"Fighter jets struck military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime near the port of Al Hudaydah in Yemen in response to hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months," the IDF said.
It is noted that additional details will be provided soon.
This strike is apparently Israel's first strike in Yemen, the newspaper notes.

Later it became known that an Israeli air strike on Yemen in response to Houthi attacks on the country was approved this morning by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Gallant's office published photos from a meeting the minister held this morning with senior military officials, during which the strike was approved.

Al Arabiya, citing unnamed sources, reports that the strike on the fuel depot and refineries in the port of Al Hudaydah in Yemen was carried out jointly by Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The report also claims that 12 Israeli aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets, took part in the attack.
