In a comment that initially appeared on the agency's platform, it was stated that Iran "has no other path but to achieve nuclear deterrence" in order to negotiate with the US and Israel "from a proper position."

Later, the Fars agency explained that the post was published on an interactive platform where users can post their own materials, and it "does not reflect the official position of the agency."
The comment contradicts years of statements by Iranian authorities about the lack of intentions to create nuclear weapons. In particular, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei previously issued a religious decree banning its development.
The appearance of this publication came amid statements by US President Donald Trump, who calls preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons the main goal of the current conflict.
