Iran will continue to "resolutely" respond to US strikes and does not plan negotiations. This was stated on Wednesday to Iranian media by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, reports UNN.
"Currently, we have no plans for negotiations, and we remain focused on defending the country," Baghaei told journalists near a memorial in Tehran dedicated to the son-in-law of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to a video recording by the Iranian television channel SNN.
Baghaei stated that Iran will not adhere to any agreement if the US "violates its commitments."
"This is a principle, and we will continue to adhere to it," Baghaei said, adding that Iran believes the United States has ignored the ceasefire regime from the very beginning.
Shortly after SNN reported the representative's statements, the semi-official news agency Mehr reported that the US had struck the Iranian island of Hengam near the Strait of Hormuz.
