Iran and the United States have reached an agreement to establish an operational communication mechanism in the Strait of Hormuz to prevent incidents and misunderstandings during the passage of vessels. According to him, the creation of a "hotline" should ensure a high level of security and uninterrupted movement of vessels through the strategic waterway.
Ghalibaf noted that the mechanism will allow for a rapid response to possible incidents and requests from the United States or other shipping participants.
In addition, the Iranian negotiator reported that during the talks in Switzerland, the parties agreed on the issue of Iran's access to $12 billion in frozen funds, and also discussed details of the lifting of oil sanctions.
