The Venezuelan government has confirmed the death of 920 people due to the earthquakes that occurred this week in the northern region of La Guaira, with the epicenter 20 kilometers from the capital Caracas. This is reported by the BBC, writes UNN.

According to the country's government, 172 people remain under the rubble at this time. Meanwhile, 920 people have died and 3,360 have been injured. Moreover, over 50,000 people are considered missing.
Due to destroyed hospital facilities, patients have to be placed in makeshift tent hospitals.
Acting President of the Republic Delcy Rodríguez reported that at least 200 aftershocks were recorded after the earthquakes. The number of locations of infrastructure facilities that have been damaged or destroyed has exceeded one thousand.
Reuters also added that on Friday there was another earthquake in Venezuela. A tremor with a magnitude of 4.9 was felt in Caracas (the country's capital) and nearby Maracay.
According to the publication, this disaster could have political consequences for interim President Delcy Rodríguez, who seeks to present herself as a driver of political change, despite having been vice president under the ousted President Nicolás Maduro.
