Spending on security and defense reached UAH 155.6 billion in June. In total, UAH 888.4 billion was spent on the security and defense sector in January-June this year. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, according to UNN.
UAH 155.6 billion was spent from the state budget in June on the security and defense sector. In January-June 2024, the expenditures of the general fund of the state budget for this sector amounted to UAH 888.4 billion (57.5% of the total amount of expenditures of the general fund of the state budget)
In particular, the funds were allocated to:
- financial support for military personnel and police officers;
- purchase of military/specialized equipment, weapons, ammunition, food, etc
- Health Care.
On July 18 , the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law to increasethe 2024 state budget expenditures by UAH 500 billion, mainly for defense, as well as changes to increase taxes, which is expected to bring in UAH 140 billion.
