Oleksandr Lomako's powers as secretary of the Chernihiv City Council were terminated ahead of schedule, as decided by local council members, UNN reports with reference to the Chernihiv City Council.

"The powers of the Secretary of the City Council Oleksandr Lomako were terminated early by the decision of the Chernihiv City Council of the VIII convocation on December 20. The deputies supported his request," the statement reads.
On December 7, Lomako said in his video message to the people of Chernihiv that he was submitting his resignation.
The need to elect a new secretary was emphasized today by Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv RMA.
"The session of the Chernihiv City Council is underway. I appeal to the deputies: today it is important to elect a city council secretary who would unite the deputy corps and strengthen the synergy of elected community representatives," Chaus wrote on Telegram.

Earlier, UNN wrote that the acting mayor of Chernihiv, the secretary of the city council, Oleksandr Lomako, had resigned.
