Electricity consumption is increasing due to the heat wave, blackout schedules are being applied throughout the day, with more after 1 p.m. imports and emergency aid from neighboring countries are expected. After an enemy attack on an energy infrastructure facility in Rivne region overnight, the aftermath of the attack is being eliminated, Ukrenergo reported on Wednesday, UNN reported.
Consumption
"Today, on July 10, regional power distribution companies are applying consumption restrictions throughout the day. According to the forecast, there will be two rounds of outage schedules from 10:00 to 13:00, and three rounds at other times of the day. Consumption is growing due to the heat. On Tuesday, July 9, the maximum consumption was 5.4% higher than on Monday," the company said.
Ukrenergo urged people to use electricity sparingly when the power comes back on schedule. They also called to limit the use of air conditioners and not to turn on powerful electrical appliances at the same time.
Consequences of the attack
"At night, Russians carried out another drone attack on an energy infrastructure facility in Rivne region. Work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Electricity supply to consumers, which was interrupted as a result of the attack, was restored using backup schemes," Ukrenergo said.
Emergency assistance
Yesterday, from 20:00 to 22:00, emergency supplies from the power systems of Poland and Slovakia were used to reduce the volume of outages, as indicated. Today, in the evening hours, it is also planned to involve emergency supplies from European countries to compensate for a part of the energy deficit in the system and maintain reserves.
Import and export
Imports - during the day from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Moldova in the total amount of 28,487 MWh, with a maximum capacity of 1,444 MW. Exports are not carried out and are not planned.
