The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper, announced the harvest figures for the region, UNN reports.
Details
As of July 11, the region harvested more than 1.5 million tons of grain. 426 thousand hectares have been threshed (65% of the harvest plan):
- winter wheat - 909 thsd tonnes (36.4 c/ha);
- winter barley - 468 thsd tonnes (38.2 c/ha);
- spring wheat - 7.1 thousand tons (38.6 c/ha);
- spring barley - 31 thou tons (31.3 c/ha);

The highest yields are currently in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, where 40.9 cwt/ha are harvested per hectare. Podilskyi district yields 40.4 cwt/ha and Rozdilnyanskyi district yields 37.5 cwt/ha.
"This year's harvest involves 3,700 combine harvesters, including 3,000 of our own and 700 borrowed from other regions.
This number of harvesting machines gives us reason to hope that the region will be able to harvest the crops in an organized manner and without losses within the optimal agronomic timeframe.
I thank the farmers of Odesa region for their resilience and selfless work for the benefit of Ukraine!" Kiper writes.
As a reminder, Odesa region is actively working to increase yields through the reconstruction of reclamation systems. These projects are funded from the regional budget and will increase the area of irrigated land to 120 thousand hectares by 2026.
In addition, an experiment in cotton cultivation was launched in the region. Nine companies sowed fields with a total area of just over 5 hectares. Cotton crops are performing better on irrigated fields.
