In Kyiv an 18-year-old girl was injured after falling into an unfenced water-filled pit in the Obolonskyi district; a criminal proceeding has been initiated, the capital's Main Directorate of National Police reported on Saturday, writes UNN.

Law enforcement officers learned about the incident during monitoring of social networks.
Preliminary investigation revealed that on Ivasyuk Avenue, workers of the emergency team of KP "Kyivteploenergo" were carrying out repair works due to a cold water supply pipe burst. At the same time, the work site was not properly fenced. As a result, an 18-year-old local resident, passing by, fell into a water-filled pit and injured her leg
She was provided with the necessary assistance, as stated.
For this fact, investigators initiated a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of safety rules during the performance of work with increased danger.
