German Economy Minister Robert Habeck promises further support for Ukraine regardless of whether the G7 countries manage to provide Kyiv with the promised $50 billion loan. Obligations to Ukraine must be fulfilled "without any ifs and buts," Habeck said.
If the loan is not granted, support "must be provided in other ways", the minister said. Habeck emphasized that it is necessary to ensure that the weapons systems are ordered now and then paid for with G7 funds.
The minister is confident that Ukraine's defense struggle has a historical dimension and will go down in the history books of this century. Germany, Habeck emphasized, will not leave Ukraine to its fate, even if the United States stops supporting Kyiv if Donald Trump wins the upcoming presidential election.
