The "Ukrainian snipers" at the opposition rally in Tbilisi, which were widely reported by the Russian media, have been identified, UNN reports with reference to Novosti Georgia.
Details
On October 28, Russian media claimed that Ukrainian snipers trained in Ukraine were in Georgia to organize provocations at protests and published photos of allegedly camouflaged soldiers with Ukrainian and Georgian chevrons.
The Mythdetector project found out that the photos were actually of Georgian hikers.
"My friends and I often go hiking, and this kind of clothing has something to do with it. I always dress like this at rallies and similar events because of the convenience," said one of them, Lasha Kachiashvili. According to him, there were several founders of the Mtamadideblebi hiking club at the rally wearing hiking clothes.
