There have been 94 combat engagements in the frontline so far, almost a third of them in the Pokrovsk sector. Kharkiv region is under constant fire from enemy aircraft. The border of Sumy and Chernihiv regions is also under fire, and the enemy is conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary as of 16 hours on July 12, UNN reports.
The situation in the combat areas and on the frontline is tense and complicated, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from implementing its plans and destroying its personnel and equipment. As noted, the situation is as follows by area:
Border areas of Sumy and of Chernihiv regions are under systematic fire from enemy artillery and MLRS, a number of border settlements such as Buchky, Leonivka, Yelino, Poznya, Seredyna Buda, Popivka, Iskryskivka, Velyka Pysarivka, and Myropilske have suffered from enemy terrorist attacks. The occupants fired unguided missiles at the area of Oleksandrivka, Chernihiv region. The enemy is conducting subversive and reconnaissance activities.
At the same time, Kharkiv region is under constant fire from enemy aircraft. Today, terrorists launched six attacks from the Russian side, including 12 UAVs. They targeted the areas of Starytsia, Liptsi, Mali Prokhody, and Vovchansk. In addition, on the Kharkiv direction, the Russian occupiers tried eight times to storm the defensive lines of the Ukrainian army near Hlyboke, Vovchansk and Starytsia. A firefight is currently underway near Starytsia. The situation remains under control of our troops.
In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy actively attacked the positions of our units four times in the area of Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Berestove and Novoselivka, and used multiple rocket launchers on Kupyansk. Two firefights are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the line.
Today, in the Lyman sector, the invading army, supported by aviation, carried out ten attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka, Nevske, Torske and Terny. Four engagements ended without success for the enemy, six more are ongoing.
The enemy is also active in the Siverskiy direction. Near the settlements of Razdolivka and Vyymka, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks. The situation is under control.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants made nine assaults on the positions of our troops near Chasovyi Yar, Andriivka and Ivanivske. Two attacks are still ongoing. The enemy carried out air strikes with attack aircraft on Chasovyi Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, the number of enemy attacks increased to 12. The enemy is concentrating its efforts in the vicinity of Pivnichne, Zalizne and New York. Ukrainian troops repelled nine enemy attacks, three more combat engagements are ongoing.
The Pokrovske sector saw the largest number of firefights. Since the beginning of the day, the occupants have already made 29 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Oleksandropol, Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Sokol, Progress, Lozuvatske, Novooleksandrivka, Karlivka and Yasnobrodivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have repelled 20 enemy attacks so far, with nine battles still ongoing. The enemy's losses are being clarified.
Fighting continues near Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, 13 attacks of the occupation army were repelled in the area today.
In the Vremivsky sector, Ukrainian troops repelled one enemy attack near Vodiane, and two more attacks are underway near Urozhayne.
On the Orikhiv direction, units of our troops repelled three Russian assaults. Here, the occupiers failed in the area of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyno.
