More than 70% of Europeans believe that their countries will benefit from EU membership and value cooperation between countries. 68% are likely to vote in the next European Parliament elections.

The majority of of Europeans believe that their country benefits from being in the European Union. This is stated in the public opinion survey Parlemeter 2023, known as the autumn Eurobarometer, published by the European Parliament, reports UNN.

According to the to the survey, more than 70% of Europeans believe that their country benefits from being in the European Union. The main reasons for their support are the following EU's contribution to maintaining peace and strengthening security and improving cooperation between Union.

Also, 70% of of Europeans believe that the EU's actions affect their daily lives. The main tasks of the European Parliament are the fight against poverty and social exclusion, public health, and the fight against climate change, supporting the economy and creating new jobs. At the same time, the topics of migration and and asylum were named as priorities by 18% of citizens, which is seven percentage points higher than last fall.

At the same time citizens of EU member states are interested in the upcoming elections to the European Parliament in 2024. 53% of respondents believe that the European Parliament should play a more important role in the future. 68% of citizens said that they would go to the polls to vote if the European elections were held in a week.

Autumn The European Parliament Eurobarometer was conducted by the Verian research agency from September 25 to October 19 in all 27 EU member states. A total of 26,523 interviews were conducted.
