EU ambassadors have agreed to allocate EUR 4.2 billion from the EU to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program. The decision must now be approved by the EU Council in writing. This is stated in the statement of the Hungarian presidency of the Council of the European Union, UNN reports.
Ambassadors today approved the first disbursement under the Ukraine Facility, paving the way for the transfer of almost €4.2 billion to support Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction and modernization
It is noted that the next step will be approval by the EU Council under a written procedure.
Addendum
The Ukraine Facility program envisages the provision of EUR 50 billion to Ukraine over the next four years.
On July 16, the Ministry of Economy reported that Ukraine had taken all necessary actions to fulfill the indicators of the second quarter of 2024, which are provided for in the Ukraine Plan under the EU's Ukraine Facility program, and sent a request for €4.1 billion to the European Commission.
