Ukraine's military operation in the Kursk region of Russia may force Moscow to redeploy troops from other sectors. Janek Kesselmann , deputy commander of the Estonian Military Intelligence Center, said this in a commentary to ERR, UNN reports.

"The Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk area is likely to lead to the redeployment of Russian Federation units from other directions to provide defence ...", said an Estonian military intelligence official.
He also noted that the Russian Armed Forces "probably ... were not prepared for a Ukrainian offensive in the area, and the attack came as a surprise to them," Kesselmann said.

At a press conference at the Estonian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant Colonel Janek Kesselmann also mentioned successful attacks on Russian military airfields, restrictions on Russian activity in the Black Sea, and the fact that Russia is currently losing more people a day in combat than it can gain.
