Electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased due to the heat wave, with blackouts scheduled from 16:00 to 22:00, NPC Ukrenergo and the Energy Ministry said on Thursday, UNN reports.

Consumption

Today, on July 25, "the use of restrictive measures is expected only during the evening peak consumption hours - from 16:00 to 22:00, there will be one round of blackouts."

"The reason is complex: the heat has subsided and electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased. This morning, consumption is 6% lower than its forecast level (excluding restrictions) for the morning of Thursday, July 18. At the same time, the capacity deficit has also decreased - a unit at one of the nuclear power plants has returned to operation after being repaired, and sunny weather and moderate temperatures contribute to an increase in electricity production at solar power plants," the company said.

Import and export

There is no information on electricity imports. "Exports are not taking place and are not planned," Ukrenergo said.

De-energization

Due to bad weather, 34 settlements in Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions were without power in the morning. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Energy, 50 settlements in Khmelnytsky, Volyn and Ternopil regions were cut off from electricity supply in the morning due to bad weather.

As of the morning, 483 settlements were completely and partially cut off from electricity due to hostilities and other reasons.

Due to hostilities: there are power outages in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.

For technical reasons, consumers in Zaporizhzhya and Chernihiv regions lost power in Zaporizhzhya and Chernihiv oblasts.
