Publisher BookChef stated that as a result of a massive Russian attack on the capital, 800 thousand books were destroyed at the warehouse, UNN reports.
As a result of the night Russian attack, the central warehouse of our logistics partner Denka Logistics, where our books were stored, was destroyed. Most of the print run, which is approximately 800 thousand books, has been lost. These are books that authors, translators, editors, illustrators, designers, printing houses, managers, and logistics personnel worked on. These are years of work by a large number of people
The publisher added that "all our people are alive" and "this is what we are holding on to now."
BookChef is currently temporarily suspending all promotions with partner stores until the number of reprints stabilizes.
For the time being, we cannot accept, process, and ship orders in the usual manner. This may cause difficulties and delays even with new print runs of books. We ask for patience and understanding, we are working on logistics
Furthermore, the publisher emphasizes that they continue to work.
We know how difficult this night was FOR EVERYONE. And that is why we continue to do our part: we publish new books, invest in Ukrainian book publishing development, and support the economy. The best support and help for us now is simple: buy our books. Every order is a real contribution to restoring print runs and ensuring that Ukrainian books continue to be published, despite everything. The online store is operating as usual. Thank you for being with us. Together we will manage
