Cyprus, which currently holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union, plans to present a negotiating document with specific parameters for the new long-term EU budget at the June summit. This was stated by Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides after an informal meeting of EU leaders, reports UNN.
According to him, the Cypriot side has already carried out significant preparatory work and brought closer the positions of member states on key issues of the Union's future budget.

He added that work will be accelerated in the coming weeks, with the main goal remaining the submission of a document with figures to the June meeting of the European Council.

This concerns the new multiannual financial framework of the EU, which will determine the bloc's spending from 2028. Among the main negotiation topics are defense, support for competitiveness, energy, agriculture, and cohesion policy.
