Cucumbers have been rising in price in Ukraine for four weeks in a row. Producers offer greenhouse cucumbers at prices ranging from 90 to 115 UAH/kg, which is on average 13% more expensive than a week earlier. This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project, UNN reports.

The season for selling cucumbers from local greenhouses in Ukraine is reportedly coming to an end. At the same time, the project analysts emphasize that local farmers manage to raise prices for this product almost every day until the end of the season.
"Today, producers are ready to ship greenhouse cucumbers from 90 to 115 UAH/kg ($2.18-2.79/kg) depending on the quality and volume of the batch, which is on average 13% more expensive than a week earlier," the report says.
The project experts explain the latest price increase in this segment by a significant reduction in the supply of cucumbers from local farms. As of today, many factories have already announced the actual end of the sales season, while the rest of the farms offer these products only in small batches. Meanwhile, the demand for cucumbers in the domestic market of Ukraine remains quite high, which provokes a rapid rise in prices.
It is also noted that under such circumstances, greenhouse plants in Ukraine are now able to sell cucumbers at an average of 57% more expensive than in the same period last year. At the same time, market players do not rule out the possibility of further price increases in this segment.

EastFruit project analysts reported that the cost of quality carrots in Ukraine increased by 12% over the week and amounted to 18-25 UAH/kg. Prices for the root vegetable have risen due to active purchases by wholesalers who store carrots for storage and by households who stockpile them for the winter.
