The government of Ukraine has adopted a resolution on the restoration of military and civilians released from captivity after their release, measures for their reintegration and post-isolation support, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported on Friday, UNN reports.

Details

"Today, the Government of Ukraine adopted an important resolution "On Approval of the Procedure for Conducting Restorative (Post-Isolation, Reintegration) Measures, Adaptation Measures, Support (Accompaniment) of Persons in Respect of Whom the Deprivation of Personal Liberty as a Result of Armed Aggression against Ukraine has Been Established," the Center reported on Telegram.

It is stated that state institutions have encountered a number of problems when working with defenders released from captivity. And now the work on the restoration of personnel will be carried out in a comprehensive manner, with the provision of medical, rehabilitation, psychological assistance and social services. The procedure offers a unique model of full diagnosis, a continuous process of treatment and rehabilitation:

- Rehabilitation will be provided in specialized centers and healthcare facilities designated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine according to uniform standards and protocols, with minimal time spent on patient transfer.

- The developed algorithms are in line with similar procedures in NATO countries and can be extended to the categories of released civilians and subsequently to wounded military personnel.

Reintegration and post-isolation support measures will be implemented:

- The Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Penitentiary Service and the SZRU - in relation to the released Ukrainian defenders, without fail;

- The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Security Service of Ukraine - for released civilians with their consent.

As noted, the development of the document began in March 2023 at the initiative of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
