The meeting was attended by: Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine – Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk, representatives of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Ministry of Culture.
As reported by the OP, the participants discussed proposals and ideas for the arrangement of public space and infrastructure that should correspond to the historical role of Ivan Mazepa. The monument to the hetman is planned to be installed at the beginning of Taras Shevchenko Boulevard in the center of the capital. Special attention was paid to the participation of city residents, experts and specialists in the discussion of the monument project and the overall architectural concept of the surrounding area.
It was agreed to develop a plan for holding an architectural competition of projects, public hearings and round tables dedicated to the installation of the monument to Ivan Mazepa. The Cabinet of Ministers must consider a resolution that will allow discussions to be held together with the National Union of Architects and to announce a competition of projects. The Verkhovna Rada, the government, the Office of the President and local authorities will jointly work out all organizational and technical issues

On Constitution Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiated the installation of a monument to Ivan Mazepa on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard in Kyiv.
"Undoubtedly, the scale of this figure deserves a full-fledged monument in the capital of our state. I believe that an ideal place for it exists – it has existed since December 2013 on Shevchenko Boulevard. And I am sure: where Lenin fell, Mazepa will stand firmly," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
